New Front Door!

Change is inevitable and this time it comes in the form of a new front door.  It is like an early Christmas present to ourselves.  Of course, it did require some work and still needs some fine finishing touches, but overall it is a wonderful improvement over the old door.

Here's Hank getting ready to take off the old door.  This is his "why are you taking my picture?"  look.

Now he is removing the trim that held the old door in place.

Remove all the old hardware.

Take out the threshold and outer trim.

Set in the new door with frame and of course Tinkerbelle comes to help!

Both Hank and Tinkerbelle check out to see if the door is squared.

This is where we had to stop on day one, due to a meeting in Calallen.

On day 2 Hank had to do some adjustments so that the new faceplates would fit well.  The dremel tool came in handy.

My contribution was to hold all the tools and be the gofer.  Then I got to hang the garland!  I think that the door  goes so well with the window arches.  It looks so nice and I can't wait to get everything touched up with paint inside and out. But that will have to wait for a long, dry, warm weekend!
